Double Check your Christmas Trees for Bugs Before Bringing Them Indoors
If you don't want to receive any uninvited guests, be sure you check your tree for bugs before bringing it inside.
"When people go out, especially people who go to tree farms or go out into a national forest or something and cut a tree, there is a good chance when they come back they may bring some insects with them," said Richard Zack, WSU Professor of Entomology.
You could find anything from a moth, to a beetle or even worse a yellow jacket wasp. So what is the best way to make sure to keep these critters outside of your house?
Give your tree a good shake before brings it indoors, that way any loose particles or bugs will be set loose. Just be cautious when taking in the holiday pine. It is important to make sure you DO NOT use any types of sprays on the trees because the chemicals could be harmful ones they are inside.
